A few other essentials that are often over looked are things like soap, powder, lotion, and oil to protect baby’s skin. Babies also seem to use a lot of blankets especially during the colder months. These are a must have to help prevent baby from catching a cold. A sick baby is no fun for mom and dad plus it can be very hard for a new born. Blankets can also be used to lay baby on and you always need plenty close by.

Anyone who has carried a baby for a walk or at the store knows what a big help a stroller can be. Some new parents, and especially first time parents, spend an outrageous amount of money in preparation for a newborn. The nursery is stocked as well as the displays in the local boutique. Every imaginable baby gadget and gear is available. They hardly have room for the baby, which is ironic, because at this stage, the baby is probably still sleeping in their room.
